One hundred inches of rain a year. Two hundred twelve days of measurable precipitation. Forks earns its reputation as one of the wettest towns in the continental United States. It also sits at the edge of the Hoh Rainforest, one of the finest temperate rainforests anywhere. The town spent most of the 20th century as a logging hub, self-proclaimed logging capital of the world. Then the timber industry declined, and Stephenie Meyer set a vampire romance here. Now Twilight fans come for Bella's truck parked at the visitor center while hikers come for moss-draped old growth and Roosevelt elk. The rain makes both possible.
Where to Stay

Miller Tree Inn
The 'Cullen House' for Twilight fans, though it looks nothing like the movie version. This 1916 farmhouse actually matches the book's description: a hundred years old, soft white paint, three stories, wrap-around porch. Beyond the literary connection, it's a proper B&B with solid breakfasts and genuine hospitality.

3 Rivers Resort
Rustic cabins near where the Sol Duc and Calawah rivers meet. Family-friendly, laid-back, minutes from the coast. Good for fishing trips or just wanting something quieter than town.
Where to Eat

Sully's Drive-In
The local burger institution. Been feeding Forks for generations. The 12th Man Burger and grilled chicken sandwich get mentioned as some of the best in the Pacific Northwest. Families, solo travelers, everyone ends up here eventually.

Longhouse Cafe
Native-owned cafe where everything on the menu comes on freshly made fry bread. Indian tacos, soups, desserts. The interior is built to feel like a traditional Salish longhouse, with tribal music and carved wood throughout. One of the most distinctive dining experiences on the Olympic Peninsula.
Where to Drink
A Shot In the Dark
The local coffee spot. In a town this rainy, good coffee matters. Consistently rated among the best in Forks.

Blakeslee's Bar & Grill
The town bar. Wings, burgers, chowder. 21+ after 3pm. Open Tuesday through Sunday.
Getting Around
Car needed? Essential
You need a car. The Hoh Rainforest, Pacific beaches, and Sol Duc Hot Springs are all drives from town. No public transit to speak of.
Beyond the Park
Forks has leaned into its accidental fame.

Twilight Sites
Bella's red 1953 Chevy pickup sits at the Forks Visitor Center. The Forever Twilight in Forks Collection houses actual movie costumes and props. Dr. Cullen has reserved parking at Forks Community Hospital. The movies were filmed in Oregon and British Columbia, but the books are set here, and the town has made the most of it.

Forks Timber Museum
Built by Forks High School students in 1989. Covers the logging history that defined this town for most of the 20th century. Worth an hour if you want to understand what Forks was before Twilight.
Pro Tips
- Bring rain gear. This is one of the wettest places in the lower 48. Accept it.
- The Twilight movies were filmed in Oregon and British Columbia, not Forks. The books are set here.
- The Forever Twilight in Forks Festival happens in September, around Bella's birthday (September 13).
- Hoh Rainforest gets crowded. Arrive early, especially in summer.
